Founded in June 2002, Southern Lighting Company, Inc. primarily serves the Eastern United States and the Caribbean Islands. We are a Service Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business headquartered in North Carolina, with offices in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Pensacola Beach, Florida.
Southern Lighting Company is a distributor of commercial grade lighting products including lamps, ballasts, fixtures and retrofit kits with a strong focus on energy efficiency and customer satisfaction. The company was founded in 2002, now with over 20 years' experience.
The company’s founders and owners are Frank W. Saunders Jr. and Robert C. Witwer. Mr. Saunders is President and a 20-year veteran and Navy Pilot. Mr. Saunders earned a BS degree from East Carolina University and has been in the lighting industry for over 25 years. Mr. Saunders is responsible for the sales and marketing staff and has participated in and contributed to numerous sales conferences and panels.
Mr. Witwer, SLC Vice President, has over 30 years of Senior Management experience stemming from the Aerospace Electronics Manufacturing industry. He holds a BSEE degree from the California State University at Los Angeles and a MBA from Pepperdine University. Mr. Witwer is responsible for the operations of the company, which include managing onsite installation crews.
